As reported by WAM on June 24, 2018, the cabinet of UAE
released No. 29 and 30 resolutions, respectively involving new regulations on
supervision of milk, dairy products, and juice beverage.
The No. 29 Resolution regulates that the Supplier may
only do business with registered and licensed enterprises. While according to
ECAS, the supplier must acquire qualification certificate and UAE quality logo
before products are put on the market, and shall guarantee products keep
abiding by corresponding specifications.
The No. 30 Resolution regulates that juice and beverage
products must comply with standards approved, and the information on product
label shall abide by standards and specifications; in the meantime, the images
and words on package shall not violate public morals and the value of Islam.
The resolutions also regulate that product quantity in package must comply with requirements, and the products shall be packed in suitable vessels to guarantee food safety and quality. The resolutions also prohibit all retail outlets in UAE to sell or promote any product without ECAS registration.
