On July 17,
2018, the Food Safety and Standard Administration of India (FSSAI) released
2018 Food Standards and Codes for Food Additives, and revised contents of additive
substances in Chapter III of the 2011 edition food standards and codes for food
additives, specifically as follows:
1.
Add contents of 3.4 processing agent, mainly including classification, scope of
application, acceptable daily intake (ADI), and maximum acceptable use level of
processing agents.
2.
Add Annex C, and regulate scope of application and acceptable residual quantity
of 13 processing agents.
The deadline for exposure shall be Sept. 16, 2018.
