The Interfax-Ukraine News Agency
reported on August 16 that the US Department of
Agricultureraised 2018 corn yield
forecast for Ukraine
by 1 million tons, reaching 31 million tons. The corn exportforecast
for the 2018/2019 marketing year increased by 500,000 tons, reaching 24.5
million tons.
The Ministry maintained the forecast of
16.5 million tons of corn exports and 25.5 million tons of corn yield in the
2018/2019 marketing year in Ukraine,
which was in line with the announced indicators in July. The corn yield in Ukraine
was forecast to increase by 1.85 million tons to 65.6 million tons and the corn
yield thereof by 1.45 million tons to 45.66 million tons.
As reported by the Ukrainian Ministries of
Agriculture and Food, according to preliminary data, core export in the
2017/2018 marketing year decreased from 43.8 million tons in the previous
market year to 39.4 million tons. The corn yield in Ukraine in 2017 was 61.28 million
tons, a decrease of 4.7 million tons from 2016. The Ministry predicted that the
corn yield of Ukraine
in 2018 would remain at the level of “60 million tons +” during the last year.
