Singapore AVA released G/TBT/N/SGP/45 bulletin for food regulations amendment draft 2019 on Sept. 17, 2018. Main contents of the draft are:

(1) The current scope of application of health claim allowing cholesterol-lowering function of barley β-glucan is expended to Oat β-glucan. AVA said the barley β-glucan/oat β-glucan have been proved to lower cholesterol.

(2) The requirement that the shelled eggs under mineral hydrocarbon processing must mark with “sealed” is deleted.

The bulletin is open for comment for 60 days after the date of release and will take effect in January 2019.
