As reported on Sept. 4 by Fraternit'e Matin, the official newspaper of
Ivory Coast, CICC the second Council of Ministers of member countries was held
in Benin from Aug. 28 to Aug. 30. The meeting mainly deliberated and passed
strategic documents such as internal rules, organizational structure and budget,
and decided to set Executive Secretary in Abidjan.
CICC contains nine member countries, respectively Ivory Coast, Benin,
Burkina Faso, Togo, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali and Senegal. The tenet
of foundation is to promote cooperation and collaboration between member
countries in cashew production, processing, commercialization, research and
development, technical innovation and consumption.
The cashew outputs in the nine member countries keep rising at the speed of at least 100% per year. Data of the World Bank shows the output of African cashew nuts accounts for 50% of total world output. In 2017, the cashew output in Ivory Coast is 711,200t, ranking the first in the world.
