Washington News on October 18: the global agricultural output report
released by USDA in October shows the expected sunflower seed output in Turkey
in 2018/19 is 1.8 million ton, 100,000t higher than the predicted value in the
previous month, and 300,000t higher than that in the previous year.
The harvest area
of sunflower seeds is about 750,000ha., 25,000ha. higher than the predicted
value in the previous month, and 7% up than that in the previous year. The
precipitation during sunflower seed seedling is higher than average level. The
irrigation water source is sufficient, and rainfall during growing and harvest
period is in time.
The sunflower yield per unit area reaches the 2.4t/ha., which is a new high record and consistent with the predicted value in the previous month, and 8% higher than that in the previous year. The harvest started from August and usually lasted to October.
