According to www.foodnavigator-asia.com on Dec. 5, 2018, food producers and processing plants of New Zealand will apply County-of-Origin label to the products. The measure has been made to law officially. It is learned that the application of such label is voluntary in New Zealand. The New Zealand Parliament said the act covers food under management (the marketing components shall be single type fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and fresh, aquatic products with the least processing, and salted pork), food under management for retail, and food under management packaged or not packaged. This act is inapplicable to directly editable food, nuts, seeds, grain, vegetables and fruit cans, and frozen assorted vegetables.
