On Dec. 19, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea released No. 2018-108 Bulletin to revise all contents of the Standards for Labeling of Foods, etc.. The main contents are as follows:

1. The labeling standards for foods and animal byproducts are integrated.

2. The “labeling matters and standards for various foods” are sorted out again according to food categories revised in Food Standards and Specifications. Labeling standards for fruit and vegetable juice and other aquatic processing products (only vacuum-packed products after sterilization and disinfection) which could be added to products sold after de-freezing.

The bulletin will be officially implemented from Jan. 1, 2022.
