News of Hazelnuts Grower’s Association of Azerbaijan was quoted by REPORT.AZ on Jan. 4 in Baku that in 2018 the hazelnut export volume of Azerbaijan dropped nearly 20% than that in 2017. The main reasons are that the exchange rate between Rira and USD fell, and the world’s largest hazelnut exporter Turkey offered hazelnuts with lower price to the world market, leading to uncompetitive export price of Azerbaijan hazelnuts. 

The largest buyer of Azerbaijan’s hazelnuts in 2017 is Russia.
