Data released
by ANEC shows Brazil totally exported 82.8 million ton soybeans in 2018, which
is a new high record in its history. On the one hand, the soybeans were
harvested in large areas in Brazil, and nationwide yield reached 120 million
ton in 2018; on the other hand, due to Sino-US trade friction, China purchased
more from Latin American markets, especially from Brazil to meet domestic
soybean demands. ANEC believes that the China-oriented export of Brazil
soybeans increased 10 million ton because of those factors.
ANEC predicts that the soybean export may
decline in 2019 because firstly the soybean yield may drop due to climate
factors and secondly the Sino-US trade friction may be solved and international
soybean market may be recovered. The total export volume of Brazil soybeans is
expected to drop to 73 million ton, 12% lower on year on year basis.
