Sources released by the Russian Federal Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Supervisions Binhai Border Area and Sakhalin Prefecture Branch pointed out that the regions pine nut exports to China doubled year on year in 2018.

Sources pointed out that the Russian Federal Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Supervisions Coastal Frontier Region and Sakhalin Prefecture Branch issued a phytosanitary certificate for pine nuts with a total export weight of 10,307 tons (5,882 tons in 2017) in 2018.

As pointed out by the Bureau, China is still the only importer of pine nuts in Russia’s coastal border region. In December 2018 alone, China purchased more than 1,870 tons of pine nuts.
