A Dutch Group Intends to Invest in Binh Phuoc Province Cashew Farming in Vietnam

On March 6, Huang Yingming, vice-chairman of Binh Phuoc Province Peoples Committee, pointed out that the Dutch MCE-MARD Group had visited the province to learn about investment opportunities in cashew nut industry and expressed the hope to cooperate with the province in growing 5,000 hectares of safe cashew nuts as a cashew nut growing area for service export.

The MCE-MARD Group hopes that Binh Phuoc Province will provide 100 hectares of land for the pilot cultivation of cashew nuts, thus forming a production chain and interfacing with cashew cooperatives in the province.

At present, Binh Phuoc Province has 71,612 cashew growers with a cashew planting area of 174018 hectares, accounting for 30% of the agricultural land area in the province. At present, four cashew growing areas in the province are distributed in Budang, Fuying, Buyamo and Tongfu counties. The cashew harvest area in this province is 135,275 hectares, with an annual output of 200,000 tons.

As pointed out by the representative of MCE-MARD Group, the Company has already cooperated with Yuefu Company in the production of cashew nut shell oil. The group chose Binh Phuoc Province because of its large cashew planting area and good planting technology. the group hopes to invest in a cashew nut growing area of 5,000 hectares. After having a stable cashew nut raw material area, the group will invest in the construction of a cashew nut shell oil processing plant in the province.
