The Abidjan News Network of Cote d'Ivoire reported on February 21 that according to the Cote d'Ivoire Cashew Committee, Cote dIvoires cashew production reached 761,000 tons in 2018, up 50,000 tons from 711,000 tons in 2017 and expected to reach 800,000 tons in 2019.

In 2019, in order to allow price space for exporters exporting cashew nuts to Ghana, the Kuwaiti government set the protection price for field purchase of dried, selected cashew nuts free of foreign matter at 375 FCFA per kilogram (approximately 4.32 yuan), down 25% from 500 FCFA per kilogram (approximately 5.76 yuan) in 2018. The protection price for inland warehouses is set at 400 FCFA per kilogram (approximately 4.61 yuan), while that for port warehouses is set at 459 FCFA per kilogram (approximately 5.29 yuan).

In cashew nut processing, the processing capacity of cashew nuts in 2018 was close to 69,000 tons, up 53% year-on-year, but lower than the original target of 100,000 tons. The target for 2019 is 130,000 tons of processing capacity, and the current capacity of the branch's existing plant is 122,000 tons. In order to improve cashew processing rate, the Cotton Cashew Committee is currently building a “school factory” in Yamoussoukro.
