On March 24, the Hungarian Institute of Agricultural Economics released Hungarian Food Trade 2018. According to the Document, Hungary's agricultural products and food exports totaled 8.69 billion EURO in 2018, down 2.2% on a year-on-year basis. Imports reached 5.82 billion EURO, up 4.1% on a year-on-year basis. The surplus was 2.89 billion EURO, a year-on-year decrease of 12.8%. The proportion of agricultural exports to total exports will decrease from 8.8% to 8.3% in 2017, while imports will decrease from 6% to 5.9%. The proportion of deep processed products in the export products has all risen.
