According to
a Bloomberg report on April 27, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev is
in Beijing to discuss Russias export of soybeans, dairy products and meat and the construction of a freight infrastructure for this purpose.
According to the report, Trutnev pointed
out in a statement that Russia has the potential to increase its soybean export
to China to 2 million tons per year by 2024. According to the Chinese
government data, its export volume in 2018 was 817,000 tons.
The report pointed out that Rabobank
estimated that China might need to import 84 million tons of soybeans in 2019.
