June 7, Deputy Minister of
Agriculture Kazakhstan pointed out at a press conference that Kazakhstans
soybean planting
area would double to 270,000 hectares by 2020.
Kazakhstan
pointed out Kazakhstan is currently implementing the “North Soybean” program.
North Kazakhstan has sown 14,000 hectares of soybeans and used foreign
high-quality soybean seeds. Up to now, 125,000 hectares of soybeans have been
sown in Kazakhstan, and the annual output is expected to reach 250,000 tons.
The sown area of Kazakhstan’s soybeans will double again to 270,000 hectares in
2020. According to the Plan of “North Soybean”, Kazakhstan’s soybean planting
area is expected to reach 1.5 million hectares in the next five years, with a
total output of 3.2 million tons. Its annual export is expected to reach 2.5
million tons, with an export of approximately USD 1.1 billion .
According
to the Ministry of Agriculture, Kazakhstan exported 8 million tons of wheat in
2018, with an export of USD 1.3 billion.
