From Aug. 2, 2019, Ukraine will implement new national standards for organic products. By then, the country will establish unified organic product certification institution register.

At present, there are about 400 organic agricultural manufacturers in Ukraine, respectively ranking the 20th and the 11th place in the world and Europe.

Compared the new standard to the old version, the contents adjusted contain: establishing organic manufacturer unified register, forcing to register organic seeds, growing materials and manufacturer’s information, obligation of organic product manufacturer for authentication and declaration application, and coordination between manufacturers and authentication organ about contents of labels, etc.

The new standards regulate clearly that units or organs participating in sales of organic products shall guarantee accuracy of labels, not propagandize and sell organic products without authentication certificate; otherwise, they will pay fine with various amounts.
