The Buenos Aires Grains Exchange said in its weekly report released that Argentina 2019/20 sunflower seed sowing was advancing in the past week.

As of Oct. 16, the Argentina sunflower seed sowing area has reached 600,000ha., equaling to 36.8% expected sowing progress, 1.7% higher than that in the previous week and 11.1% lower on year-on-year basis. The lower sowing speed than that of the previous year is because of insufficient topsoil moisture status.

In the middle and northern agriculture zone in Argentina, the proportion of crop from normal condition to excellence is 97.6%.
