Australian Macadamias Were Affected by Drought in 2020

The Australian Macadamia Association (AMS) recently announced that Australian macadamia crops will be affected by drought in 2020, and the output is expected to reach 36,500t of shelled nuts with a humidity of 3.5% (or 39,000t if the humidity is 10%)

This is the second time in a row that Australian macadamia crops have been affected by an unprecedented drought. Jolyon Burnett, chief executive officer of AMS, pointed out: All cultivated areas have been affected, with an output of 43,500t of shelled nuts at a humidity of 3.5% (or 46,600t if the humidity is 10%) after the first drought in 2019.

The Australian macadamia harvest in 2020 has started in Bandarberg and will begin in all other cultivated areas in the next few weeks, ending in August/September.
