Ukraine Becomes World’s Largest Exporter of Sunflower Seed Oil

Ukraine’s Liga quoted Ukraine’s Agricultural and Commercial Club as saying on February 25 that in 2019 Ukraine ranked the first in the world in terms of sunflower seed oil and oil meal exports, with total exports of USD 4.3 billion and USD 975 million, respectively.

In addition, Ukraine was the world’s second largest exporter of rapeseed last year, with exports reaching USD 1.3 billion, an increase of 27% YOY. In the meanwhile, Ukraine is also world’s fourth largest exporter of corn, barley and rye, the fifth largest exporter of wheat and the sixth largest exporter of soybeans. In 2019, Ukraine’s corn exports grew 49% YOY to USD 5.2 billion. Barley exports rose 4% YOY to USD 710 million. Rye-75% reduction to USD 3.9 million; Wheat-up 22% to USD 3.7 billion; Soybeans-down 16% to USD 1.2 billion.
