On March 31, 2020, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan released SSF0331 No.1 notice and revised contents of the Implementation Rules for Food Sanitation Law and Specifications for Food and Additives. Specific revisions are as follows:

1. To add Psicose epimerase into Attached Table 1 (List of appointed additives) of the Implementation Rules for Food Sanitation Law.

2. To set or revise maximum residue limits of six pesticides or veterinary drugs including chloropicrin, dichlobentiazox, cefapirin, fenpicoxamid, Thiazolidine bactericide and prothiofos in food.

The announcement comes into force upon issuance; however former regulations are still applicable to the MRL of pesticides or veterinary drugs in some food within 6 months after the release date of this announcement.
