The
Government of Mexico Increases Corn Yield
According
to the El Financiero, Julio Villalobos, the Agriculture Secretary of Mexico said
in “2020 Agriculture Forum of El Financiero” said Mexico is both the place of
origin and the consumption power of corns, and large amount of import is
required since domestic market demands could not be satisfied by local corn
output. Therefore, the Government of Mexico will launch the “Corn Strategic
Plan of Mexico” (Maiz por Mexico) to enhance corn production support and help
yield increase from aspects of technology, fund, processing and production. In
order to increase corn yield, the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural
Development of Mexico deployed strategic plantation land to meet demands of
central Mexico for corns. The lands are mainly distributed in Chiapas, Yucatan,
Tamaulipas and central valley area.
