Brazilian Expert: Soybeans Export to China Is not Affected by COVID-19

Daniel Amaral, the Chief Economist of ABIOVE (Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries), said the other day the soybean export of Brazil will not be affected by COVID-19, and export to China keeps a strong trend.

In the interview with Xinhuanet, Amaral said “Brazil is striving to guarantee supply to domestic and overseas market; at present, the epidemic prevention measures adopted across Brazil will not hinder soybean export.”

Amaral said the soybean export to China is about 75% of total export volume. The export to China will keep a powerful trend, and probably exceed 55 million ton this year.

Data released by Brazilian Cereal Exporters Association recently shows as driven by strong demand in China the soybean export volume in March reached 13.3 million ton, creating the highest record for a singular month.
