Supply:
through preliminary measurement, the total yield of global macadamia nuts in
2020 is expected to reach 235000t, increasing 3% compared to that of 2019. The
yield in South Africa holds the line, and is expected to reach 60000t; the yield
in Australia reaches up to 36500t; the yield in Kenya reaches 33000t; yield in
China reaches 29000t.
Demands:
overall demands of macadamia nuts reflect the yield. In the first 12 months as
of February 2020, the total import volume/sales volume of top 5 nuts market
rose 2%. The nuts import volume of USA is increased 11%, and of Japan is
increased 8%. The sales of local nuts in Australia is reduced 23%, but after
crop yield record is broke in 2018. The import volume of the European Market is
lowered 6%, partly showing lower supply of complete nuts. This is the feature
of harvest in 2018.
Data
during COVID-19 epidemic has not been disclosed yet. However, all
non-government reports show higher sales volume in March in most markets and
areas without supply limit.
