Japan Released Modification List of Specifications for Food and Additives

On June 18, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan released SSF0618 No.1 Bulletin to revise partly the Specifications for Food and Additives. The specific modification contents about additives are as follows:

Additives:

(1) Add difenoconazole as designated additive;

(2) Formulate specifications and standards for difenoconazole as additive; set ingredient specifications of nine additives of Iso-α-bitter Acids, higher fatty acid (octoic acid), higher fatty acid (decanoic acid), higher fatty acid (stearic acid), higher fatty acid (palmitic acid), higher fatty acid (behenic acid), higher fatty acid (myristic acid), higher fatty acid (lauric acid) and quicklime; revise ingredient specifications of ethyl acetoacetate.

Date of application: The bulletin will enter into force from the data of issuance; former regulations are applicable to manufacture, processing or import of aforesaid additives except difenoconazole within 1 year.
