Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) held a series of online seminars for nuts and
dried fruits industry, and gathered more than 1500 professionals from 75
countries. The online seminars led by experts discussed the new trends
including vegetable protein, consumer demands during COVID-19 epidemic, harvest
prediction and product development.
As
consumers become more serious in health, and are willing to accept more
vegetable protein, nuts and dried fruits industry may get benefit. In addition,
regardless of COVID-19 epidemic, many products are increased in retail demands.
Experts believe it is necessary to find new consumption channels through
product innovation.
In
the online seminars, experts from nuts and dried fruits producing regions and
consumption regions with the closest global relations discussed prediction of
preliminary harvest volume - the prediction results are still restricted by
conditions at the end of the harvest year and expected supply of 2020/21
season.
