According to report of Russian business reference website, the total export value of sunflower seed oil of Russian companies exceeded USD 2.2 billion. The export still keeps increasing in 2020, and export volume has exceeded 1 million ton.

The export volume of Russian sunflower seed oil since 2016 has been increased remarkably. Research data shows the export supply proportion increases 11% in recent three years, accounting for 39.1% of oil-pressing mill yield in Russia. During that period, the supply to markets of other countries is increased to 1.3 million ton in 2019 from that in 2016.

In general, Russia faces trade surplus in external economic activities in that field. As of 2019, the trade surplus reached 3.1 million ton, while there is hardly foreign supply in Russian sunflower seed oil market. The export volume of Russian sunflower seed oil is increased 46.8% by the end of 2019 than that in 2018.

It should be noted that the sunflower seed oil output in Russia during 2016-2019 is increased 24.4%. Meanwhile, the domestic demand grows slowly, only 5.4% in three years.
