On July 13, 2020, FAO, UNICEF, WFP and WHO jointly issued “The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World”. According to the report, about a quarter of world population faces medium and serious grain insecurity, and the number of population in the past 6 years is still increasing. Over one fifth of population in Asia still faces insecure grains. A preliminary assessment shows the pandemic of COVID-19 may lead to global population with short food increased to 132 million in 2020, adding 83 million. In the meantime, the burden caused by various types of malnutrition worldwide will still be a challenge. As estimated, in 2019, among children aged below 5, 21.3% (144million) suffered developmental retardation, and 6.9% (47million) are skinny; over 90% children suffering developmental retardation live in Africa or Asia, respectively accounting for 40% and 54% of total number.
