Recently, the Embassy of Myanmar in China said they are negotiating with
Chinese merchants to repack food of Myanmar such as snacks and enter into
Chinese market. As affected by epidemic, both Myanmar and Chinese importers and
exporters carried out online communication and planned to hold free taste fair
in Beijing, Sanya, Chengdu, Tianjin, Kunming and Changsha.
China is the main trade partner of
Myanmar. Khin Maung Lwin, the spokesman of Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar said
the export amount to China is accounting for 30% of its external trade.
In order to enter Chinese market, the food of Myanmar shall not only
change product package but also improve food quality and safety. To reach
international GMP standards, the production chain shall acquire relevant
certification. If food quality does not reach standard, reputation of Myanmar
product but not exporters will be affected. At present, foods exported are
sesame oil, sesame cake, chilled vegetables, dried mango, tea and coffee.
