According to the latest data, the export of hickories of the US witnessed reduction over the previous year. Compared to the previous production season, almost every production region has seen reduction in export. According to the initial data issued by the US Hickory Association on the harvesting seasons from September 2019 to August 2020, as expected, the export of hickories has been hit this year.

The export to the Europe witnessed the largest drop, reduced by nearly 10 million pounds compared the previous year, and the export value of this area has reduced from 47 million to 37 million pounds. The global economic shutdown has caused panic among traders and exporters, and many of them have reduced speculative purchases and kept inventories to a narrower range.

The area with the second largest loss is the North America, suffering a reduction of 9 million pounds over the previous production season. Canada and Mexico have been good trading partners for U.S. hickory growers, but trade with the two countries has slowed as a result of the epidemic situation.
