Australian Macadamia Society (AMS) announced recently that the output of nut crop in Australia in 2020 will be higher than expected.

At present, it is estimated that the Australian nuts with shells and water content of 3.5% will be more than 42,000 tone (if the water content is 10%, the output will be 45,000 tons), which is higher than the initial estimation of 36,500 tons by 15% (if the water content is 10%, the output will be 39,000 tons).

The latest harvest forecast released by AMS is based on a forecast from the Australian Macadamia Handling Association (AMHA) as of the end of September. The output of Australian Macadamia collected by the association accounts for 97.5% of the total output of Australia.

The final harvest data of 2020 will be published at the beginning of December by the association.
