In the Agricultural Harvest Season of 2020/21, Output of Cashews in Tanzania Is Expected to Reach 278,000t

The mainstream Tanzanian media Citizen reported on November 11 that by mid-November 2020, amount of cashews sold in Tanzania had doubled compared with the same period of the previous year. This year, Tanzania has conducted five rounds of auctions, selling more than 100,000t of cashews in total, and farmers of cashews in Tanzania have gained a total income of approximately USD 105 million.

As reported, the price of cashews in Tanzania has remained stable this year, fluctuating between USD 1.18 and USD 1.08 per kilogram. In the agricultural harvest season of 2019/20, yield of cashews is over 230,000t, and it is estimated that the yield will reach 278,000t in the agricultural harvest season of 2020/21.
