VINACAS said in the end of November that as of the end of October 2020, the cashew nut export volume of Vietnam still reached 422,000t under impact of COVID-19, and export value reached USD2.6 billion. It is estimated that the annual export volume is 450,000t, with value of USD3.3 billion.
So far, cashew nuts of Vietnam have been exported to over 90 countries and regions, accounting for 80% of worldwide cashew nut export volume.
Pham Van Cong, Chairman of VINACAS said the priority of Vietnamese cashew nuts industry is the most advanced cashew nut processing technology in the world developed by the Vietnamese. At present, VINACAS is drafting and suggesting the government to issue “development strategy of Vietnamese cashew nuts industry in new circumstances”. It issued laws and policies to promote deep processing of cashew nut industry, and meet worldwide diversified demands so that the country plays proper role in global cashew nut value chain.
