From January to October 2020, the total export volume of peanuts from the United States was 544,406 metric tons, valued at US$626 million. Compared with the same period last year, the export volume increased by 32%, and the export amount increased by 12%. In 2020, China remained the main export destination of US peanuts, accounting for nearly half of all peanut exports of the US. Total shipments to China have now reached 2,64579 MT (US$202 million). Compared with the same period in 2019, shipments increased by 328% and value increased by 228%. Raw peanut kernels are the main product exported by the United States, with a total export volume of 244,977 tons, which is nearly 10% lower than last year. Peanuts in shell, including farm raw materials used for oil extraction, followed closely. As of October 2020, their shipments reached 235,258 tons, an increase of 237% from last year. The export of peanut butter was 32,604 tons, a decrease of 5% over the previous year; and the export of peanut products was 16,091 tons, an increase of 8%. So far, the total export volume of dehulled peanuts is 13,095 tons, which is 25% lower than the same period in 2019.
