In 2020-2021, corn yield in Brazil is expected to be lower than 94 million ton due to serious drought, 8.5% less than that in the previous year. Brazil is one of the largest meat producers in the world. As affected by domestic fodder demands, corn yield reduction will lead to higher import and lower export. Analysts pointed out the expected corn export from Brazil this year is 22.5 million ton, and import is 4 million ton. Investigation data of Reuters in April shows the 2020-2021 corn yield in Brazil is expected to be 107 million ton. However, the second season corn, which decides annual corn yield suffered serious drought, will lead to far lower annual corn yield in this year than what expected.
