APK-Inform, an advisory agency,
released a report, in which the predicted data of sunflower seeds in Russia in
2021 is lowered to 15.8 million ton, 1% lower than the predicted value earlier;
however, the yield after adjustment is still 17% higher than that in 2020.
The predicted value of yield is based on per unit yield. The high
temperature weather in main producing area affects the potential of per unit
yield.
Analysts of APK-Inform said the per unit yield of sunflower seeds is
lowered to 1.75t from 1.77t, with decline of 1%. However, the number is still
higher than the average per unit yield in the recent three years. Therefore,
the sunflower seeds yield in Russia this year is expected to create the highest
record in history.
Russian growers grow 9.2 million ha. sunflower seeds this year, creating the highest record in history, and increasing 8% on year on year basis.
