The national policies on cashew nuts
drafted by the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia will be submitted to
cross-department work group for further examination in recent years.
According to announcement released
by the Ministry of Commerce on July 22, attendees on online conference
discussed drafts of national cashew nuts policies in details, and made
corresponding amendments to certain contents.
The Ministry claimed that the national
policies on cashew industry aim to further promote cashew industry in Cambodia,
including attracting investment in cashew growers and processing fields.
The Ministry said new policies will
build Cambodia to a major cashew nuts producing and supplying country in this
region and in the world, improve its digital and quality competitiveness of
Cambodia cashew nuts, create added value and benefit growers.
As it is introduced, total cashew yield in Cambodia this year will reach 250,000t. Data of the Ministry shows Cambodia exports cashew nuts to seven countries including Vietnam, Russia, South Korea, China, Burma, Peru and Saudi Arabia.
