Agriculture News of Vietnam reported on Oct.25 that
according to the latest statistical data of General Administration of Customs,
in first nine months this year, Vietnam totally imported various corns of 7.68
million ton with amount of USD2.17 billion and mean price of USD282.6/t. The
import volume decreased 9.4% than that in 2020, but import amount and average
price respectively increased 27% and 40%.
Argentina as the largest source of origin of imported corns for Vietnam, although import volume of corn in the first nine months in Vietnam dropped 33.4%, the number is still 4.01 million ton; the import amount of average price respectively increased 0.3% and 50.6%; corn imported from Argentina still accounts for 52.3% of total imported corn of Vietnam. Brazil and India exported 1.43 million ton and 1.09 million ton to Vietnam in the first nine months; particularly, the corn quantity and amount from India to Vietnam respectively soared 55.6% and 48.9% than that in 2020.
