According to data released by Vietnam Bureau of Customs,
in September national cashew nut import from Vietnam is 206.810t, and import
amount is nearly USD271.5 million, decreasing 10.3% and 7.1% respectively on
QoQ basis.
In terms of import market, from early this
year especially from March and April when import from Cambodia soared
abnormally, the import of Cambodian cashew nuts slumped. On the contrary, the
traditional market in Africa, especially Ivory Coast gained the leading
position again.
In September, China imported 100.268t
cashew nuts from Ivory Coast, accounting for 48.5%; the import amount is nearly
USD127.5 million, accounting for 47%.
In the meantime, import volume from
Cambodia is only 8920t, and import amount is USD14.5 million, decreasing nearly
dozens of times compared to that in peak period this year (the import volume
from Cambodia in April is the largest, nearly 420,000t.)
In the first nine months this year, cashew nuts imported from Vietnam exceeded 2.5 million ton, with import amount of nearly USD3.7 billion, respectively increasing 129.1% and 171.8%.
