Expert Appraisal Seminar on the Quality Level Requirements of Raw and Dried Nuts Held by the Commiss

            The Expert Appraisal Seminar on the Quality Level Requirements of Raw and Dried Nuts was held by the Commission in Beijing, on December 12, 2013. Weng Yangyang, the Executive Vice President of the Commission, served as the Leader of the Review Group for the Seminar, which was attended by Wang Jun, the Doctor of China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment; Wang Changlin, the Director of the Review Department of the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China; Guo Xinguang, the Vice Director of the Standard Information Department of China National Research Institute of Food & Fermentation Industries; Quality Supervisors, Chief Engineers, General Mangers from domestic leading enterprises such as Cha Cha, Hengkang, Caihong etc.; competent governments and enterprises of Lin’an, Zhejiang; American associations of Almond, walnut, pistachio, pecan etc.; as well as the representative of the Unit preparing the Document. Wu Bugang, from the Agriculture Department of the American Embassy in China, was specially invited to attend the Seminar.
    In the Seminar, Experts discussed about every opinion widely collected for the Quality Level Requirements of Raw and Dried Nuts. Upon the review on all general rules, contents and formats of the Document, conclusions were formed as follows:
    I. Appraisal documents provided by the Drafting Group are complete, and are prepared in accordance with requirements under GB/T1.1-2009;
    II. The Quality Level Requirements of Raw and Dried Nuts completes the domestic vacancy, has targeted guiding significance for the production and operation of the nut and roasted seed industry, and has certain adaptability and wide operability, for the combination with domestic and abroad standard connection and industry development demands of the same industry when prepared; and
    III. All Experts of the Appraisal Group agree in approving the Document review, and require the Drafting Group to finish the alteration and improvement in accordance with opinions proposed in the Seminar in February 2014, and to discuss related enforcement and execution matters.
